An excursion to Inchcolm Island is a great trip for all ages of school children. Whether you wish to concentrate on the history of the island or the abundance of Scottish Wildlife, there is plenty to form part of a class project.

Maid of the Forth was voted the Best Educational Day out in Scotland for 2018!

A Teachers information pack on visiting the Abbey is here and the specific Hazard Information sheet for Inchcolm is here. Sample Risk Assessment form for teachers can be found here.

Prices for educational trips are £7.50 for children, with 1 adult free for every 10 kids.

Free Landing passes are available from Historic Scotland for many types of Educational Groups. To see if your group qualifies please see the following link (Click here).  If your group qualifies for free landing you have to contact the Island on 07918 337097 at least 10 days prior to your visit to get your free educational voucher sent to you.  You must then bring this with you on the day and show when collecting boarding passes in our booking office on the Hawes Pier.  That way we don't have to charge you the landing fees!
