For our 5 Bridges Cruise, which takes 4 hours, The Maid heads west up the River Forth from South Queensferry, to pass under all 5 of the great bridges across the Forth, the Forth Bridge, The Forth Road Bridge, The Queensferry Crossing, The Kincardine Bridge, The Clackmannanshire Bridge.

The cruise heads up river past Blackness Castle, Rosyth Dockyard, Grangemouth and squeezes underneath the Kincardine Bridge.  The Kincardine Bridge was built in 1932 as a swing bridge to open up for passing ships, but as the number of ships heading up that far up the river dwindled, it was opened for the last time in 1988 and then welded shut. Luckily if we get the tides right, we can still get through underneath.

The Clackmannanshire Bridge was opened in 2008 to reduce the congestion on the adjacent Kincardine Bridge.  It is slightly lower than the Kincardine Bridge so it is even more of a squeeze to get the Maid underneath it!
