Maid of the Forth

Maid of the Forth

The Maid of the Forth is a modern steel passenger vessel built in Bristol in 1989. She is fully licensed and safety certified every year to carry 225 passengers and five crew.

The passenger compartments on the vessel are over two levels.  The lower deck is fully enclosed and heated and the open top deck is excellent for enjoying the fresh sea air on your cruise.  Deck Plans of the vessel can be found here.

Safety equipment exceeds the stringent requirements of the MCA (Maritime and Coastguard Agency). Our skippers are very experienced and fully qualified holding both a Boatmaster Certificate and the RYA Offshore Skipper.

The vessel is powered by twin Ford Mariner diesel engines giving a cruising speed of 10 knots. There is a separate generator to provide 230v power for heating, lighting and beer chillers. The wheelhouse is well equipped with five VHF radios; two radars;  three independent GPS systems and an echo sounder.  There is a full Public Address system throughout the vessel allowing the skipper to keep you informed of wildlife as it is spotted throughout the cruise.
